Greenhous Commercials Ltd is the first truck dealership in Britain to become a VOSA approved, digital tachograph centre
VOSA says that the approval means operators who want to invest in new vehicles with digital tachographs have the first of a fast growing number of centres where the new equipment can be activated, calibrated and fully supported.

'In the last two months, more than 100 analogue tachograph centres have applied to become approved digital tachograph centres and the number is growing every day,' says Kevin James, VOSA's tachograph and speed limiter scheme manager. 'The approval of this centre is a major step forward for VOSA, and the haulage industry, and it supports the current non-mandatory fitment of digital tachograph equipment.'

Greenhous Commercials Ltd, located in Neachells Lane, Willenhall, West Midlands, has been an analogue tachograph centre since 1996. It processes around 2,600 vehicles a year and employs two trained and certificated analogue, and now digital, tachograph technicians.

'This is a good example of a tachograph centre, a tachograph manufacturer and VOSA working together from the start of the project,' adds James. 'VOSA now has a dedicated team of officers who are specialists in the field of tachograph and speed limiter centres. They can be contacted for advice and guidance throughout the process of becoming an approved centre and will be available for support from there on.'
