RHA's new finance alliance signed as ferry service moves into fifth year

The Road Haulage Association's new alliance with Bank of Scotland Corporate was signed on June 9 at Rosyth.

RHA members throughout the UK are set to benefit from new and flexible rates offered by Bank of Scotland's Corporate Asset Finance team, helping them to optimise haulage costs.

The Bank of Scotland intends to work with the association and its members to provide tailored and competitive financial products. Lindsay Town, head of asset finance for BOS, said: 'I'm delighted we can mark the formal signing of the venture with the RHA at Rosyth.'

June 9 was also the fourth anniversary of the Rosyth to Zeebrugge Superfast ferry service and Town added: 'The port is a key element of the Scottish road haulage industry, and is important to offshore logistics. The ferry service forms a vital part of Scotland's infrastructure.'

Superfast Ferries took the opportunity to thank the 60 RHA members for using the service; freight volumes have increased from 32,558 units in 2003 to 40,307 last year.

RHA chief executive Roger King said: 'We believe the service is one that many of our members support very strongly. Looking ahead, we hope it will continue to prosper and develop over the next few years.'
