Tyre sealant specialists, Air-Seal Products, says it offers the best
tyre sealant technology now available, which will prevent up to 95%
punctures.
The company says its products can also eliminate all rim, bead and other slow air leaks preventing under inflated tyres.
In addition Air-Seal claims that tyre life can be extended by up to 20% and fuel costs reduced by maintaining tyre pressures.
The product is supplied in convenient to use 20-litre pails with a specially engineered pump. The installation procedure is simple and usually completed within a short time.
As the tyre rotates, the product spreads evenly over the inside surface. Immediately a puncture occurs, the air pressure in the tyre forces millions of fibre particles and fillers suspended in the sealant to interlock to form a plug, which prevents any further air loss. Air-Seal says the sealant is capable of plugging holes up to 11/4 inches (30mm) across in 18 ply tyres upwards.
The sealing action will be completed within two or three revolutions of the wheel. It happens so fast that the driver may not know a puncture has happened. When the tyre is inspected the nail or the cause of the puncture can be removed. Then the vehicle must be driven straightaway so that the tyre will re-seal itself.
