Document Actions
Daf Trucks will present the new XF105 at the RAI commercial vehicle show in Amsterdam on October 14
Daf says the new model is an extension to its heavy truck range and will be built alongside its Euro 3 counterpart, the XF95. Daf will continue supply of the XF95 as long as there is demand up to the compulsory introduction date for Euro 4.

The new XF105 features a restyled exterior, an entirely new interior design, a new chassis lay out and the new 12.9-litre PACCAR MX engine, available in both Euro 4 and Euro 5 specifications. Daf says the XF105 will enter production in the first quarter of 2006.

The XF105's Super Space Cab gets a new roof, a restyled upper grille and a new lower grille that has been integrated with a new steel front bumper. The cab interior features new styling, colours and materials.  New door panels with stylish fabrics have been included with improved storage space. There is a new instrument panel and dashboard, with integrated parking brake.
A new steering wheel is now available with integrated controls for functions such as cruise control, down-hill speed control and mobile phone, while other important functions, including those of the AS-Tronic automated gearbox, are controlled with easy to reach steering column stalks. The engine tunnel has been lowered to 15 cm to achieve a semi-flat floor. The result is a standing height on the engine tunnel in the Super Space Cab of 2.10m.

The XF105 is powered by the new 12.9 liter PACCAR MX engine. Developed and built by Daf Trucks in Eindhoven, initially the engine will be available with power outputs of 410, 460 and 510 hp, with a maximum torque outputs of 2,000, 2,300 and 2,500 Nm respectively. Daf says that a 560 hp version will be made available.
In order to meet both Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission requirements, the Daf XF105 will be equipped with an SCR DeNOx catalytic converter.

Air tanks and other components have been moved into the inside of the chassis, creating additional space.
