Alcoa has announced the introduction of its Dura-Bright wheels to the European market following their success in the USA.
Alcoa says the idea of a new surface finish was to make the Alcoa forged aluminium wheels even more attractive to customers, by making them easier to maintain. The company adds the new wheels retain their shine without the need for polish and can be simply maintained using soap and water.
Dura-Bright is not a coating. It is a patented surface treatment that penetrates the aluminium and becomes an integral part of the wheel itself. The surface treatment will not chip, crack, peel or corrode.
Alcoa says its Dura-Bright wheels are available from all European trailer OEMs and the Alcoa distributors. In addition, Alcoa expects Dura-Bright wheels to become a truck manufacturer factory fit option later this year.
The Dura-Bright treatment is available on wheel dimensions 22.5 x 8.25, 22.5 x 9.00, 22.5 x 11.75 inset 0 mm, 22.5 x 11.75 inset 120 mm and 22.5 x 11.75 inset 135 mm. Alco says all sizes come with 26 mm and 32 mm bolthole diameters.
